Come enjoy films and live performances of all kinds at the historic Waco Hippodrome Theatre! Waco’s only dine-in theatre also features leather recliner seating in the 3 new state of the art theatres. The Hippodrome hosts dozens of live music, comedy and dance performances each year in the 800+ seat theatre. Established in 1914. First opening on February 7, 1914, The Waco Hippodrome has been a staple in entertainment for the Waco community. Originally, the building became a hub for vaudeville acts and films. This reputation continued until the 1970s when the building closed for a time. Once renovated and reopened in the 1980s, it became the home of the Waco Performing Arts Company which offered live theatrical events. After a two-year renovation, the Waco Hippodrome reopened in 2014 and offers a variety of program for its audiences: first-run and classic films, live music, performing arts, comedy and much more. A 2018 expansion added a rooftop bar, The Hightop, a first floor diner, The Raleigh, and 3 new state of the art movie theatres decked out with luxury leather recliners and push button food service.
