Hotel Galvez & Spa has pleased guests worldwide for more than 100 years. Our AAA 4-Diamond property is the only historic beachfront hotel on the Texas Gulf Coast and renowned as one of the finest Galveston hotels on the beach. Established in 1888. In 2005, Hotel Galvez owners George and Cynthia Mitchell and daughter, Sheridan Lorenz, began plans to add a luxury spa to the hotel to provide enhanced services for the hotel’s ever-increasing bridal market as well as guests at the hotel. Construction began in May 2006.The Spa is located in the lower level of the hotel which originally housed a barber shop, candy store and drug store when the hotel opened in 1911. The Spa at the Hotel Galvez opened on March 15, 2008. Unfortunately, the spa was damaged by flooding caused by Hurricane Ike which struck Galveston Island on Sept. 13, 2008. The spa reopened to guests in June 2009.
