After a tour with the U.S. Marines during Operation Desert Storm, the current owner worked for the State of Michigan for a few years. His family has been in the restaurant business in the Detroit Area since the 1920’s. After years of sitting behind a desk for the State of Michigan, seeking change, owner Johnny Rakipi decided to return to his roots and buy his first restaurant in the charming little town of Milan, Michigan. With discipline, hard work and dedication to his customers, the Famous Milan Coney Island has become a staple in the community.
