Detroit style pizza was developed by immigrants from Sicily & the southern regions of Italy during the turn of the century. This uniquesquare pizza has a thick deep-dish crust yet is light and airy and a distinct crisp for that “bite or crack of the pizza”. This can only be doneby making & proofing the dough by hand each day. Before each pizza is made it’s placed in a unique square pan that was originallytaken from the automotive industry by ingenious and resourceful pizza artisans. These pans, lined with extra-virgin olive oil and butter,are the key to making “Real Detroit Style Pizza”. McShane’s has brought that tradition of painful execution & attention to detail that’s required to make it “Just like they used to back in the good old days”. Established in 2017. McShane’s story starts in 1997, when current owners met. Their passion for the restaurant industry soon led them to create the foundation for McShane’s Irish Pub and Whiskey Bar. We bring the fundamental style of a true public house back to Michigan by adding our own modern flair.
