Barbalu Restaurant uses only fresh and seasonal ingredients to give you the most traditional Italian menu.We serve a variety of homemade pastas, with gluten free and whole wheat options.Appetizers, pastas and main courses rotate daily reflecting the variety of the Italian cuisine and can be paired with our very well balanced Italian wine list.Desserts are homemade.Our focus is on quality and authenticity. Established in 2013. Barbalu is the marriage (literally) of husband and wife team Stefano BARBAgallo and Adriana LUque. Their new Italian restaurant is open just a stones throw from the South Street Seaport. The couple prove their continued commitment to this historic district with the decision to rebuild in the same location as their old restaurant Barbarini Alimentari and Mercato, which was completely destroyed by Superstorm Sandy.
