A Bloomington, IN original. Locally owned and operated since 1995. Our soft-crust pizza has been voted Best in Bloomington multiple times by both the readers of the Herald Times and the Indiana Daily Student. Four of our Signature offerings have won awards at regional, national and international pizza contests: Cream & Crimson, Beckon Desire, The Parthenon and Lambda Gyro Pi. Aver’s offers a unique product in a delivery and carry-out setting. Established in 1995. Started by two IU alums fresh out of college with cash advances from their credit cards as the funding. They knew exactly what kind of pizza they wanted to offer and spent many years grinding it out until they were selected to compete at the Pizza Festiva in Las Vegas with the Cream & Crimson pizza. With that award and some praise heaped on them in a big IDS article, the business took off. Despite some setbacks trying to expand outside of town, the Bloomington fan base has continued to grow year after year and Aver’s remains one of the busiest independent pizza operations in the nation. P.S. – those credit cards have long since been paid off and cut up!
