Since opening in 1974, the Athenian Corner has provided the largest variety of fine Greek food in New England. From mouthwatering lamb dishes, to traditional Greek favorites like Mousaka, Spanakopita and Stuffed Grape Leaves, the Athenian Corner has it all. New menu items added in the last year include Island-Style Ouzo Mussels and a Greek Kiss Cheesecake that diners rave about. Thursday through Saturday nights sizzle with live Greek, Middle Eastern music and belly dancing featuring the legendary virtuoso violinist, Freddy Elias. And Tuesday nights now feature live Jazz with the renowned 8-piece band Casual Saxtet. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, the Athenian Corner also does take-out dinners and catering platters. Reservations are accepted. The restaurant has its own, 15-vehicle parking lot, plus there is free street parking in the evenings and a 4-level city parking garage within 100-yards. Established in 1974. The Athenian Corner is a a family business under the same ownership since its opening. Stavros and Aleka Panagiotopoulos came to the United States from Greece in 1961, bringing with them classic recipes handed down through generations. Their children were raised in the business and help run it, along with the grandchildren.
