AB Crepes began as an idea in 2011. Two Western undergrads, Adalberto Avelar and Bayly Peterson, passed an empty 1311 Railroad Avenue during a walk downtown. The two of them stood in front of the building and visioned owning a business that would fill this space.?A few weeks later, Bayly approached Al with an idea to open up a crepe shop that would serve Bellingham all hours of the day and night. Al liked the idea but asked Bayly, “what’s a crepe?”?Bayly began inviting Al and friends over for crepe parties where they cooked both sweet and savory crepes and brainstormed the business together. After perfecting their recipes, they contacted 1311 Railroad Avenue and pitched their idea for a crepe shop. The owner enjoyed the plan for the space so much that they held the lease for Al and Bayly for over a year while they worked on creating a business plan and gathering the finances needed to start their adventure. The lease was officially signed in 2012 and AB Crepes has been happily serving Bellingham since.?We strive to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that encourages you to be who you are. Thank you to the thousands of people who have supported us over the years and especially to those who continue to support us through the COVID-19 pandemic. We love you.?? Established in 2012.
