Cooking has been a part of Harry’s life ever since he was a kid. Growing up with six siblings, he quickly found his place in the kitchen and hasn’t let go since. Inspired by his local cuisine outside of Charleston, as Harry grew up, he threw dinner parties as opportunities to impress guests with his take on low country cuisine. Now after a long career, Harry’s come out of retirement to open up a restaurant true to his roots — a modern take on Southern-American cuisine with influences from the southeastern shore and the Sea Islands along the Atlantic coast. Established in 2015. With an emphasis on authenticity and flavor, the gustatory delights of the Louisiana and Gulf Coast region come to the Atlanta area and to you. Traditionally a rice-based, sausage, seafood and vegetable diet, Creole and Cajun cuisine developed from time and tastes that have been passed down over centuries. It is with great pleasure that Coaxum’s Low Country Cuisine serves recipes and menu selections which come to you from the source of this true American experience, a blend of European and black influences, Caribbean, French, Spanish, West African, Amerindian, as well as German, Italian and Irish influences.
