Established in 1950. The noodle shop Wei Ming was established by Chi Ni Hong-Ann, the first generation Chi Mama in Taichung city, Taiwan in 1950. Grandpa and Grandma Chi brought their memories of the homestyle food with them from China to Taiwan and hand built a small bamboo house for family living, with the original small noodle house in it. These home-style noodles and comfort foods soon became popular in the neighborhood. The original store and the noodles sold there became embedded in many peoples childhood memories. When the 2nd generation Chi Mama married into the Chis family, she brought her homemade spices, hot oil, and pickled vegetables to the noodles house. With the daughter in laws dedication, together 2nd and 3rd generation work as one so the Taichung store still continues to thrive. Meanwhile, in New York is the other 3rd generation Chi Mama, Diana Ma. She adds her own childhood recipes and adds new culture to our menu.
