We do make deliveries for cakes. You can also have deli items delivered via WAITR app. Established in 1977. Atwood’s Bakery was founded in 1977 by Mark Atwood and his mother Joy. The business opened as a cake supply store, adding a line of cakes and cookies over the next couple of years. By the time they moved into their Texas Avenue location in Alexandria, Atwood’s had grown to be a full line retail bakery – offering everything from wedding and birthday cakes to breads, pastries and, one of their signature items, petit fours. Their final move to their current location at 1125 MacArthur Drive in 2004 also added a breakfast and lunch deli, serving fresh sandwiches, gourmet soups and salads. Mark’s daughter Jennifer, General Manager since 2008, was named one of the Ten Most Innovative People in the baking industry by Modern Baking Magazine in 2011. Atwood’s has competed on two nationally televised cake competitions, TLC’s Ultimate Cake-Off and Food Network Challenge. In 2012, Atwood’s was honored to be chosen to make the 200 Year Birthday Cake for the State of Louisiana in the State Capitol.
