Her mother ran “Funny Girl” in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, and from the day she was old enough to reach the sink, Cosmai has been tending to hair. In her early twenties, she got a job as right hand to Robert Renn who was one of New York’s superstar colorists. She worked with him for seven years. When Renn died in 1985, he left his salon to Cosmai. On her own, she started with one assistant. Today, she has ten.
