Call us at 907-247-2866 for a quick to-go cup of chowder. Established in 2017. Bill McLean ventured to Ketchikan from Palm Beach Gardens, FL in the summer of 1999 looking to buy a fishing lodge. He worked for free on a floating lodge in Sea Otter Sound, a 45-minute float plane ride from town, to investigate this pursuit. Often seen fishing solo with his bright yellow, perfectly clean, LL Bean jacket, he became known as Florida Bill. The name stuck, for better or worse. However, he realized running a business off the grid was way outside his skill set. Owning a remote fishing lodge wasn’t going to happen. However….He frequented Ketchikan yearly, passing through on a quest for fish by rod and reel. In 2016, he found a little waterfront joint called the Crab Cracker. It was for sale. So he bought it, ensuring an annual trip to Ketchikan for many years to come. We are happy to share our passion for Alaskan seafood, and we strive to do it well.
